Each character and generic unit in a game has a set of attributes, that describe him. Also most units are strong against certain attributes, so if unit that is strong against some attribute encounters enemy unit of that attribute he gains a 100% damage bonus. This can stack, this is usually caused by a weapon with the same ability, eg. the devil weapons that deal double damage to humans.
